problems setting up nopcart

Postby dhemmer1 » Wed Jul 04, 2012 10:50 pm

Trying to set up shoping cart at http://www.mnpioneers.com/cookbook/
1 cart is not updating when I add items to the cart. (nor am I getting the little window advising the item has been added)
2 I use Front Page and suspect that could be part of the problem.

attempting to use http://www.mnpioneers.con/cookbook/index.htm as the order form. and then use http://www.mnpioneers.con/cookbook/managecart.html to take me to a PayPal checkout. (haven't started on that yet because I can't get the first two pages to work together.)

any help will be appreciated. Please advise me of what other information I need to provide.

It doesn't find the JavaScript files, because the links are worng.

Use:

<SCRIPT SRC="http://www.mnpioneers.com/cookbook/htdocs/language-en.js"></SCRIPT>
<SCRIPT SRC="http://www.mnpioneers.com/cookbook/htdocs/nopcart.js">

or:

<SCRIPT SRC="language-en.js"></SCRIPT>
<SCRIPT SRC="nopcart.js">

Thank you very much, That fixed to original problem I was having.

Now I have a new problem. I have changed the http://www.mnpioneers.com/cookbook/index.htm page and eliminated for now 4 or the five items I have for sale. I did this just to keep it simple until I get it working.
1 now when I "add to cart" it takes me to the http://www.mnpioneers.com/cookbook/managecart.html page but there is no "product ID", "product name", or "price" information and the "Quantity" field is always 1.
2 also when I click on the "Add to Cart" button the program takes me to the "managecart.html" page right away and I don't want to go to that page until I have clicked on the "buy now" button? (at least I thought that would be correct)

I'm excited about getting this cart online and hope you can help me muddle through the process.

You have:

Code: Select all
<form name="order" ACTION="managecart.html" onSubmit="AddToCart(this);">
<p>Quantity:
<input onchange='this.value=Qred(this.value)' name="Qred" maxLength="3" size="2">color:
<input name="PRICE" value="7.00" type="hidden">
<input name="Blue" value="Red" size="17">
<input onclick="AddToCart" value="Add to Cart" align=top width="90" height="35" type="submit" name="AddtoCart"><br>
<a href="www.mnpioneers.com/cookbook/managecart.html">
<img src="htdocs/images/buynow.gif" border="0" value="managecart.html" width="90" height="35"></a>Check out now</a> </p>
</form>

The Product ID should be one of the form fields, as a hidden variable. Try this:

Code: Select all
<form name="order">
Quantity: <input type="text" size="2" maxlength="3" name="QUANTITY" onchange='this.value=CKquantity(this.value)' value="1" /><br />
<input type="image" src="cart.gif" border="0" value="Add to Cart" onclick='AddToCart(this.form)' />
<input type="hidden" name="PRICE" value="7.00" />
<input type="hidden" name="NAME" value="My Item" />
<input type="hidden" name="ID_NUM" value="ABC123" />
</form>

Please note that this code assumes that you have a shopping cart image with the name "cart.gif".

Thanks,
(Please note that this code assumes that you have a shopping cart image with the name "cart.gif".)
I don't have a "cart.gif" image and find none in the downloaded zip file?

Where was that to come from and in what folder should it be located?

Dave

Cancell that, I got past that problem. Thank you so much.

Find a shopping cart icon on Google or make one yourself.

The image file should be in the samefolder, or you can give it a full URL.
