Pls Help! Need a dropdown delivery with up to 50 options :(

Postby Morph » Sat Jul 31, 2010 2:48 pm

I'm trying to create a delivery dropdown box with up to 50 options whereby the user can select a delivery option to their area.
The area name and price must be included on the shipping row.

I've scoured these forums and have tried to implement other mods but keep finding myself going around in circles.
I need something that will either assign a name and price directly to the shipping row, or a price zone of up to 8 zones whereby each of the 50 area names are assigned to a zone.
You can see a sample of my problem here: http://www.instep.co.za/fantasia.html

My javascript knowledge is pretty poor to say the least so any help would be appreciated!

Maybe you can do this with the product selector:

viewtopic.php?f=5&t=2527

A shipping matrix with 50 options is probably not such a good idea.

After giving it much thought I realized that you're right and maybe it isn't such a good idea. I've kept it simple and added a AddDelZone script on the product page. Now all I have to do is figure out how to force the user to select a single delivery option from the dropdown box, but only once.

So in other words, a prompt to select a delivery option before going to checkout. Once a selection is made to the shipping column, it wont prompt again...and the user can order different products and not be prompted for delivery again.

You wouldn't by any chance be able to point me in the right direction?

Thanks again!
