Linkpoint chargetotal error

Postby GregS » Mon Mar 10, 2003 5:19 am

Whenever I try to submit the checkout page to Linkpoint, Linkpoint tells me that the total charge does not add up to the shipping, tax, and subtotal (or something similar). But I've made all the TaxByRegion adjustments (using 2 checkout pages and HREFs rather than form buttons to avoid the dynamic IP address problem), and the charges add up perfectly fine on both checkout pages. So why Linkpoint is receiving different charges or perhaps missing/incorrect info. is beyond my knowing.

I know that Linkpoint requires the total amt. to be a "chargetotal" which is the sum of the "subtotal" + "shipping" + "tax". Must I create hidden fields in my checkout pages with these names and leave the values blank? And/or what about configuring the OutputItem<...> categories corresponding to these required Linkpoint fields?

I've tried calling Linkpoint 3 times, but they're no help, nor will they support any non-Linpoint shopping cart questions. Can anybody help me with this one? Thanks

Sounds annoying. Post your URL, and I'll have a look. You can see what is being passed to linkpoint by making the hidden fields text fields in the checkoutCart function in nopcart.js -- good for testing and figuring out what is going on.

Linkpoint Problem: No Product info in confirmation email

Postby GregS » Mon Mar 24, 2003 12:13 am

Hi Scott,

Thanks for your response. I actually fixed the 1st problem -- Linkpoint couldn't receive a "chargetotal" with a monetary sign "$" in it. So now checkout works fine, but my confirmation email does not display anything except for customer shipping & billing info., and amt. charged.

I can't imagine what I'm doing wrong. I've disabled the tax option so that the checkout page string/address? is static, not dynamic. Could this be the cause? As a Linkpoint user, I'd imagine that I don't even need to configure checkout.pl, let alone place it in my CGI folder, right?

My sample shopping cart site is http://www.brownestanebooks.com/suppliers_lighters.htm
(On the managecart page, click on "Everybody Else"

Thanks in advance for your help,

Greg
