I have some questions maybe someone could help me?

I need my checkout page to be secure.
I'm told by my hosting company I can use the cgi-bin which is now set up for a shared ssl. I understand about the permission to be set.

1) I'm told the reference link will have to be https://foreveratpeace.cp2.hostexcellence.com/cgi-bin/
This would be placed in my marketcart2.html where it references to get the secure checkout page, once you click on checkout.

2) the begining of the file will have to be #!/usr/local/bin/php
3) they told me all files placed in the cgi-bin will have to end in cgi.

Question: does that mean I will need to change the checkout.php or checkout.pl to checkout.cgi ?
And why does https://foreveratpeace.com/cgi-bin/checkout.html creates a secure page with lock but does not pass the values of the cart over?
And https://foreveratpeace.cp2.hostexcellen ... nycheckout file does not create a secure page and I get "The page cannot be displayed".

It would be of great help if you can tell me what files belong in the cgi-bin and where should the checkout.html , orders.csv files be put.

Thank you very much
Francine
