I am having a similar problen trying to get en "order ID" generated. I'll keep trying and let you know what I find out. Basically, I am not using the checkout.cgi scripts, etc. and that is the problem. I need to create a unique ID from the main nopcart.js file.

I am very interested in using this code as it seems to solve several issues I need but am still trying to figure it out. If anyone has implemented the coupon code, please post your url so I can see it in action.

Once I get mine to work, I will be happy to share my knowledge and experience. The forum has been a great source and I am very impressed with the quality of this app.

I have used NOP Cart in the past and always been able to figure it out. I must be an idiot. I don't even know where to start with this script.

What permissions need to be set on each of the files included on my Unix Server? I assume they all need to me chmod to 775?

Does echelon.pl.ech need to be renamed to echelon.pl? The file in the .zip file is echeclon.pl.ech but the script refers to echelon.pl.

How do I set up coupon codes and what variables (other than the obvious changes to nopcart.js) do I need to change? What parts of the script can be customized?

I would also like the order of checkout to change as mentioned in the forums to be:

manage cart
coupon page
checkout

I see some people have accomplished this but I don't see any reference to how it was done.

Please help. I have looked in the here and at Echelon Design, but I can't find a straightforward answer on how to install and use this script.

I'm trying to figure out if there is a way to change the order of things so it would look like this:
1) add to cart
2) look in cart
3) coupon page
4) Checkout page with Name, Address, etc... showing your coupon discount .... select method of payment (paypal, check, moneyorder)
5) If paypal...you would be taken to paypal pay page
If check/moneyorder you would be given a page with instructions on where to send, etc.

Maybe Im looking at this from the wrong angle, but it just looks to me like (as a customer) I would want to know/see my coupon savings on the order before pproceeding to give my name/address and checking out.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!
